At Cantina Hospitality Group, creating a great guest experience starts long before a guest walks through the door. It begins with our team.

Across our restaurant concepts in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, we believe ongoing staff training, continuing education, and hands-on learning are essential to building stronger teams and providing the level of hospitality our guests deserve.

Recently, team members and managers from across Cantina Hospitality Group came together for two different training opportunities focused on expanding industry knowledge and strengthening the guest experience.

Continuing Education at Republic Distributing Company

Members of our wait staff, management teams, and bar teams recently attended a training at Republic Distributing Company.

Bringing employees together from across our concepts gives our teams an opportunity to step outside of their day-to-day roles, continue learning, and bring new knowledge back to their restaurants.

For our front-of-house and bar teams, continuing education helps build confidence and creates more knowledgeable interactions with guests. Whether someone is answering a question, making a recommendation, or helping a guest discover something new, that knowledge can make a meaningful difference in the overall dining experience.

Putting Hospitality Into Practice

Education is also an important part of our weekly manager meetings.

During a recent meeting, managers from across Cantina Hospitality Group participated in role-playing exercises centered around different guest scenarios they may encounter in their restaurants.

Managers took turns working through situations, discussing how they would respond, and exploring ways to turn challenging moments into positive guest experiences.

The goal is simple: make sure every person who walks through our doors feels welcomed, heard, and taken care of.

Role-playing gives our managers an opportunity to practice those conversations before they happen in a restaurant. It also allows leaders from different concepts to share ideas, learn from one another, and develop more consistent approaches to hospitality.

Building Better Hospitality Through Better Training

Cantina Hospitality Group includes several unique restaurant concepts, each with its own menu, atmosphere, and personality. But one thing connects all of them: our people.

Investing in restaurant staff training and continuing education helps us strengthen our teams, develop our managers, and continually improve the experience we provide our guests.

Training isn't something that happens once when an employee is hired. It's an ongoing process of learning, practicing, sharing knowledge, and finding new ways to get better.

From educational opportunities outside our restaurants to hands-on exercises during our weekly management meetings, we're committed to giving our teams the tools they need to grow.

Because when we invest in our people, they can create even better experiences for the people we serve.
